І. ЗАГАЛЬНІ ПОЛОЖЕННЯ

1.1. МІЖНАРОДНЕ БІЄНАЛЕ ХУДОЖНЬОЇ КЕРАМІКИ ІМЕНІ ВАСИЛЯ КРИЧЕВСЬКОГО – національна (з 2019 року ‒ міжнародна) мистецька подія України в галузі сучасної художньої кераміки.

(БІЄНАЛЕ започатковано 2017 року з нагоди 100-річчя заснування (05.11.1917) й відкриття (18.12.1917) Української Академії Мистецтв та на пошанування одного з її засновників і першообраного ректора, найхаризматичнішої постаті українського мистецтва першої половини ХХ століття, безмежно залюбленого в кераміку, Василя Григоровича Кричевського (1873–1952). Митець був самобутнім живописцем і графіком-новатором, засновником стилю українського модерну в архітектурі, першим художником українського кіно, майстром декоративно- вжиткового мистецтва, автором дизайну національного герба України «Тризуб», почесним дійсним членом Української вільної академії наук у США, академіком, професором, доктором мистецтвознавчих наук; директором Миргородського художньо-промислового (керамічного) інституту, професором архітектурного і художнього інститутів у Києві, художнього політехнікуму в Одесі, ректором Вищої образотворчої студії у Львові; на поч. ХХ ст. сформував найбільшу приватну збірку кераміки, яка загинула під час обстрілу Києва російськими окупантами (1918). Василь Кричевський здійснив визначальний вплив на розвиток гончарного промислу в Опішному, підтримував, популяризував і колекціонував творчість місцевих гончарів, утверджував містечко як один із найвидатніших центрів народної художньої культури українців. Саме Опішне постало осередком багатогранної творчої реалізації знакової постаті світового мистецтва)

1.2. Організатори БІЄНАЛЕ: Міністерство культури України, Національний музей- заповідник українського гончарства в Опішному, Музей мистецької родини Кричевських, Державна спеціалізована художня школа-інтернат «Колегіум мистецтв у Опішному» імені Василя Кричевського, Міністерство освіти і науки України, Львівська національна академія мистецтв, Національна академія наук України, Інститут керамології – відділення Інституту народознавства НАН України, Національна академія образотворчого мистецтва і архітектури, Національна академія мистецтв України, Інститут проблем сучасного мистецтва НАМ України, Інститут культурології НАМ України, Національна спілка художників України, Благодійний фонд «Дар», ГО «Конгрес українських керамологів», Полтавська обласна рада, Полтавська обласна державна адміністрація, Управління культури Полтавської обласної державної адміністрації, Опішнянська селищна рада.

1.3. Метою БІЄНАЛЕ є представлення творчості сучасних мистців, визначення кращих творів у галузі художньої кераміки 2018 – першої половини 2019 років.

1.4. Основні завдання БІЄНАЛЕ:

творче змагання між мистцями в галузі художньої кераміки;
спілкування, обмін досвідом роботи мистців різних художніх напрямків, шкіл;
популяризація мистецтва кераміки, формування естетичних смаків населення, сприяння різноманітному використанню кераміки в побуті сучасників;
формування колекцій Національного музею-заповідника українського гончарства в Опішному.

1.5. Мета й основні завдання реалізовуються через підготовку й проведення мистецької виставки БІЄНАЛЕ.

1.7. Час проведення: 20.09.2019 – 28.02.2020 року.

1.8. Вернісаж та нагородження переможців: 20.09.2019 року, 14.00 ‒ 16.00 год.

1.9. Експоновані твори публікуються в художньому каталозі БІЄНАЛЕ.

ІІ. УМОВИ УЧАСТІ

2.1. До участі запрошуються художники-керамісти, гончарі (далі в тексті ‒ Учасники). БІЄНАЛЕ відкрите для всіх мистців, незалежно від віку, статі, національності, фахової освіти тощо.

2.2. Мистці можуть брати участь у БІЄНАЛЕ індивідуально або через організації, асоціації, спілки, товариства, галереї.

2.3. Участь у БІЄНАЛЕ є безкоштовною.

2.4. Кожний автор може подати на БІЄНАЛЕ не більше 5 творів, які відображають тенденції розвитку сучасної кераміки, розширяють суспільні уявлення про художні можливості кераміки. Допускаються до участі також композиції з кількох предметів.

2.5. БІЄНАЛЕ проводиться за такою програмою:

І......... прийом заявок на участь у БІЄНАЛЕ (01.02 ‒ 30.03.2019);
ІІ.........попередній відбір творів до участі в БІЄНАЛЕ (01–10.04.2019);
ІІІ.......розсилання авторам запрошень до участі в БІЄНАЛЕ (11‒20.04.2019);
IV........прийом творів для експозиції (21.04 – 30.07.2019);
V.........створення експозиції (01‒15.08.2019);
VI........робота ЖУРІ, запрошення Учасників на Вернісаж та церемонію нагородження (17-22.08.2019);
VIІ.......вернісаж, церемонія оголошення й нагородження переможців БІЄНАЛЕ (20.09.2019);
VІIІ.....експонування творів БІЄНАЛЕ (20.09.2019 – 28.02.2020);
ІХ........демонтаж експозиції та передача творів авторам (01.03 ‒ 30.04.2020).

2.6. Мистці, які бажають узяти участь у БІЄНАЛЕ, до 30.03.2019 року подають Дирекції Національного музею-заповідника українського гончарства в Опішному (далі в тексті – Дирекція) заповнену заявку (за поданою в додатку схемою) та фото кожного твору. Заявку можна подати в паперовому або електронному вигляді. Подання заявки ще не означає, що її автора допущено до участі в БІЄНАЛЕ, а лише свідчить про його наміри. Заявки та інші матеріали, надіслані після 30.03.2017 року, не розглядаються і не повертаються.

2.7. Учасник має надати Дирекції, разом із заявкою, письмову згоду на обробку його персональних даних, у тому числі використання фото творів, поданих для розгляду членами ЖУРІ, та творів, експонованих на БІЄНАЛЕ, у друкованих і електронних виданнях, на веб-сайтах і у відеосюжетах Національного музею- заповідника українського гончарства в Опішному та Інституту керамології – відділення Інституту народознавства НАН України. Дирекція гарантує захист наданих Учасником персональних даних від передачі їх третім особам, за винятком випадків їх публічної доступності через друковані й електронні видання, веб-сайти, відеосюжети тощо.

2.8. Подані для попереднього відбору матеріали розглядає ЖУРІ і до 20.04.2019 року повідомляє Учасникам про твори, які допускаються до експонування, та надає офіційне запрошення до участі МІЖНАРОДНОМУ БІЄНАЛЕ ХУДОЖНЬОЇ КЕРАМІКИ ІМЕНІ ВАСИЛЯ КРИЧЕВСЬКОГО.

2.9. Твори мають бути привезені особисто чи надіслані поштою (поштовими перевізниками) на адресу Національного музею-заповідника українського гончарства в Опішному: вул. 2.10. Твори приймаються Дирекцією щодня, окрім суботи та неділі, з 9.00 до 16.00 год., у суботу й неділю – за домовленістю. На твори, відправлені поштою й пошкоджені під час транспортування, складається відповідний дефектний акт, один примірник якого передається автору. Мистцям необхідно звернути особливу увагу на значний ризик поштових відправлень і необхідність дуже ретельного пакування творів із зазначенням на пакунках «Обережно!», «Скло!» тощо. Твори рекомендується надсилати кур’єрською поштою або привозити особисто. Оплата транспортних, відрядних і поштових витрат – за кошти авторів.

Твори на БІЄНАЛЕ приймаються до 30.07.2019 року.

2.11. Мистці можуть застрахувати свої твори на випадок пошкодження їх під час транспортування (пересилання поштою), експонування в Опішному чи від будь-яких інших ризиків, включаючи втрату інформації, запозичення авторських художніх чи технологічних прийомів або збитків від третіх сторін. Страховий поліс повинен містити окреме застереження про відмову від права претендувати на компенсацію від Дирекції.

2.12. Дирекція відповідає за збереження поданих на БІЄНАЛЕ творів. Дирекція ні за яких обставин не несе відповідальності за збитки, завдані мистцям не з її вини. Дирекція також не несе відповідальності перед мистцями за обставини, що можуть виникнути внаслідок дій третіх сторін, за недотримання мистцями кодексу професійної відповідальності й порушення авторського права.

2.13. Власники надісланих на БІЄНАЛЕ творів несуть повну відповідальність за їхню автентичність, відповідність умовам БІЄНАЛЕ та відсутність будь-яких фальсифікацій.

2.14. Дирекція укладає з кожним Учасником БІЄНАЛЕ контракт, у якому передбачаються взаємні зобов’язання на період 21.04.2019 – 30.04.2020 року.

ІІІ. ВИМОГИ ДО ТВОРІВ БІЄНАЛЕ

3.1. Твір має бути виготовлений винятково з глини (глиняної, шамотної, фаянсової чи фарфорової формувальних мас); як додаткові матеріали для створення художніх образів можуть бути застосовані дерево, метал, скло тощо.

3.2. Можливі будь-які техніки формування (гончарний круг, гіпсова форма, ручне ліплення тощо).

3.3. Декорування може здійснюватися будь-якими технічними прийомами (техніками) із застосуванням ангобів, підполив’яних і надполив’яних фарб, полив, емалей тощо.

3.4. Твори мають бути виготовлені впродовж лютого 2018 – березня 2019 року та не експонуватися раніше на інших виставках, конкурсах тощо.

3.5. Дата виготовлення, ім’я та прізвище автора (авторів) мають бути зазначені на творах ритуванням, ангобами, емаллю ще до випалювання.

3.6. До кожного твору необхідно подати відповідний паспорт, у якому необхідно зазначити: прізвище, ім’я автора, назву твору, техніку виготовлення, розміри, час виготовлення (зразок паспорта на твір кераміки подано в додатку).

3.7. До участі в БІЄНАЛЕ не допускаються твори:

виготовлені не з глини (гіпсу, пластиліну, пластичної маси тощо);
невипалені;
декоровані живописними фарбами (акварель, гуаш, темпера, акрил, олія тощо);
пошкоджені (надщерблені, тріснуті, склеєні, реставровані тощо);
без належно оформлених паспортів виставкових творів та анкети автора (авторів).

ІV. ВИЗНАЧЕННЯ ПЕРЕМОЖЦІВ БІЄНАЛЕ.
НАГОРОДИ

4.1. Твори попереднього відбору та конкурсні твори оцінює ЖУРІ БІЄНАЛЕ.

4.2. Члени Журі можуть брати участь у БІЄНАЛЕ лише поза конкурсом, з представленням творів у каталозі.

4.3. Упродовж процесу оцінювання творів інформація про Учасників буде закритою.

4.4. День роботи Журі – 20.08.2019 року. Засідання Журі є закритим, рішення приймається відкритим голосуванням. Рішення є остаточним і не підлягає перегляду.

4.5. Володар Гран-прі запрошується для участі в церемонії нагородження за рахунок Дирекції.

4.6. Нагороди:

ГРАН-ПРІ – 3 000 $

ЗОЛОТА НАГОРОДА – 2 000 $
СРІБНА НАГОРОДА – 1 500 $
БРОНЗОВА НАГОРОДА – 1000 $
60 нагородних сертифікатів і каталогів.
Інші персональні нагороди співорганізаторів БІЄНАЛЕ.
Усі нагороджені отримують відповідні іменні медалі та дипломи лауреатів

4.7. Гран-прі БІЄНАЛЕ вручає представник мистецької династії Кричевських.

4.8. Золоту, срібну та бронзову нагороди вручають співорганізатори-донатори.

V. ЗАКЛЮЧНІ ПОЛОЖЕННЯ

5.1. Дирекція зобов’язується:

надати Учаснику на період роботи виставки БІЄНАЛЕ (20.09.2019 – 28.02.2020) можливість безкоштовного перегляду фондових колекцій та виставкових експозицій Національного музею-заповідника українського гончарства в Опішному;
популяризувати творчість Учасника в пресі, на радіо та телебаченні, на веб-сайтах музею-заповідника;
створити документальний фільм про основні події та Учасників БІЄНАЛЕ;
підготувати каталог БІЄНАЛЕ.

5.2. Переможні твори (гран-прі, золота, срібна та бронзова нагороди) передаються авторами безкоштовно на постійне зберігання Національному музею-заповіднику українського гончарства в Опішному.

5.3. Інші твори, які експонувалися на БІЄНАЛЕ, можуть бути повернені авторам після 28.02.2020 року винятково за їхні кошти. За згодою авторів, твори можуть бути залишені для постійного зберігання в Національному музеї-заповіднику українського гончарства в Опішному.

5.4. Твори, не забрані авторами до 30.04.2020 року, передаються для постійного зберігання Національному музею-заповіднику українського гончарства в Опішному.

І. COMMON REGULATIONS

1.1. THE INTERNATIONAL VASYL KRYCHEVSKY BIENNALE OF ART CERAMICS is an international artistic event in Ukraine in the branch of modern art ceramics.

(The BIENNALE was initiated on the occasion of the centenary of the foundation (05.11.1917) and the inauguration (18.12.1917) of the Ukrainian Academy of the Arts and in honour of the one of its founders and its first elected head, the most charismatic figure of the Ukrainian art in the first half of the 20th century, infatuated in ceramics, Vasyl Krychevsky (1873–1952). This artist was an original painter and an innovative graphic artist, a constitutor of the Ukrainian art nouveau style in architecture, the first artist of the Ukrainian cinematography, a master of applied arts, the author of the design of the National Emblem of Ukraine The Trident, the honoured full member of the Ukrainian Free Academy of Sciences in the USA, an academician, a professor, Doctor of Art Criticism Sciences; a principal of the Myrhorod Art Industrial (ceramic) Institute, a professor of the Architectural and Artistic Institutes in Kyiv, Artistic Polytechnic School in Odessa, a chancellor of the Higher School of Fine Arts in Lviv; in the early 20th century he formed the biggest private collection of ceramics, which was lost during the bombardment of Kyiv by Russian invaders (1918). Vasyl Krychevsky made a determinant influence on the development of pottery craft in Opishne, he supported, popularized and collected works of local potters as well as propagandized this town as one of the most outstanding centres of folk artistic culture of the Ukrainians. Thus, it was Opishne which became the centre of the many-sided artistic realization of the emblematic figure of world art.

1.2. The Organizers of the BIENNALE are the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine, the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne, the Museum of the Artistic Krychevsky Family, the Vasyl Krychevsky State Specialized Art Boarding School The College of the Arts in Opishne, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, the Lviv National Academy of the Arts, the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the Ceramology Institute – the branch of the Ethnology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, the National Academy of the Arts of Ukraine, the Institute of the Problems of Modern Art of the National Academy of the Arts of Ukraine, the Institute of Culturology of the National Academy of the Arts of Ukraine, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, charitable foundation The Gift, public association The Congress of Ukrainian Ceramologists, the Poltava Regional Council, the Poltava Regional State Administration, the Department of Culture of the Poltava Regional State Administration, Opishne village council.

1.3. The Aim of the BIENNALE is to represent the creative work of modern artists, to determine the best 2018-early 2019 works in the branch of art ceramics.

1.4. The main tasks of the BIENNALE:

to arrange a creative competition between artists in the branch of art ceramics;
to communicate and exchange work experience among the craftsmen of different art trends and schools;
to popularize pottery art, form the aesthetic tastes of people, procure the various usage of pottery in the everyday life of contemporaries;
to form the collections of the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne.

1.5. The aim and main tasks will be realized through the preparation and the carrying out of artistic exhibition of the BIENNALE.

1.6. was indicated as the location.

1.7. September 20, 2019 – February 28, 2020 were indicated as the date of the BIENNALE.

1.8. Vernisage and the award presentation of the winners would be held on September 20,
2019, at 2.00 ‒ 4.00 p.m.

1.9. The exposing works will be published in the art catalogue of the BIENNALE.

ІІ. TERMS OF PARTICIPATION

2.1. Art ceramists, potters of Ukraine and other countries (hereinafter referred to as the Participants) are invited to take part. BIENNALE is open for all artists regardless of their citizenship, home country, age, sex, nationality, professional education, etc.

2.2. The artists can take part in the BIENNALE individually or through organization, associations, unions, societies, galleries.

2.3. Participation in the BIENNALE is free.

2.4. Every author could submit for the BIENNALE no more than 5 works, which reflect the trends of the development of modern ceramics, broaden public notions about the artistic possibilities of ceramics. Compositions from some items are allowed to take part as well.

2.5. The BIENNALE will be held on such plan:

the receiving of applications for the participation in the BIENNALE (01.02 ‒ 30.03.2019);
the preselecting of works for the participation in the BIENNALE (01–10.04.2019);
sending out the invitations for the authors to take part in the BIENNALE (11‒20.04.2019);
the receiving of works for the exposition (21.04 – 30.07.2019);
the creation of its exposition (01‒15.08.2019);
work of the Jury, invitation of the Participants to the Vernisage and the ceremony of rewarding (17-22.08.2019);
Vernisage, the ceremony of the announcement and rewarding of the winners of the BIENNALE (20.09.2019);
exhibiting of the BIENNALE works (22.09.2019 – 28.02.2020);
dismantling of the exposition and transmission of works to the authors(01.03 ‒ 30.04.2020).

2.6. Artists, willing to participate in the BIENNALE, submit the fulfilled application form according to the sample given in the addendum and a photo of every work to the Management of the National Museum of the Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne (hereinafter referred to as the Management) till March 30, 2019. An application could be submitted in a paper or digital form. The submitting of an application does not yet mean that its author is allowed to participate in the BIENNALE, but only affirms his intentions. Applications and other materials, sent after March 30, 2019, will be not examined and not returned back.

2.7. A Participant should give to the Management, together with the application, his written acceptance of the processing of personal records, including the photos of works, their usage in printed and digital publications, in websites, and in video films of the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne and the Ceramology Institute – the branch of the Ethnology Institute of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. The Management secures personal records, given by the Participant from the transfer of them to the third party, with the exception of the cases of their open access through printed and digital publications, websites, video films and so on.

2.8. The Jury considers materials, submitted for the preselection, informs the Participants about the works, which are allowed to participate in the BIENNALE and till April 20, 2019, and gives an official invitation to participate in THE INTERNATIONAL VASYL KRYCHEVSKY BIENNALE OF ART CERAMICS.

2.9. 2.10. Works will be received by the Management everyday, except Saturday and Sunday, from 9 a.m. till 4 p.m., on Saturday and Sunday in concert. For works, sent by post and damaged during transporting, an appropriate defective act will be compiled, one copy of which will be delivered up to the author. Artists must pay especial attention to a considerable risk of postal matters and the necessity of very diligent packing of works indicating on the packets «Carefully!», «Glass!» etc. It is advisable to send works by courier delivery or bring them personally. The payment of transporting, travel and postal expenses is realized on account of authors. Works for BIENNALE will be received till July 30, 2019.

2.11. Artists could insure their works in case of its damaging during transporting (sending by post), exhibiting in Opishne or any other risks, including loss of information, borrowing of author’s artistic or technological ways or losses from the third party. An insurance policy should include a separate premonition about the refusal from the right to pretend to any indemnity from the Management.

2.12. The Management will assume responsibility for the preservation of works, submitted for the BIENNALE. The Management under no circumstances is not responsible for losses, happened through no fault of its. The Management is also not responsible to artists for any circumstances, which could arise as a result of the third party’s actions, for artists’ infraction of the code of professional liability and copyright infringement.

2.13. The owners of works, sent for the BIENNALE, are fully responsible for their authenticity, responsiveness to the terms of the BIENNALE and absence of any falsifications.

2.14. The Management contracts for mutual obligations with every Participant of the BIENNALE during April 21, 2019 – April 30, 2020.

ІІІ. REQUIREMENTS FOR WORKS OF THE BIENNALE

3.1. A work should be made exclusively from clay (clayey, chamotte, faience, or porcelain forming masses); wood, metal, glass and so on could be used as supplementary materials for the creation of art images.

3.2. Any technologies of forming (pottery wheel, plaster mould, hand-modelling and so forth) are possible.

3.3. The decoration can be accomplished with any technical modes (techniques) using engobes, underglazes and overglazes, glazes, enamels, and so on.

3.5. Works should be produced during February 2018–March 2019 and not exposed nowhere before.

3.6. It is necessarily to give an appropriate passport for every work, in which the surname and name of the author, the title of this work, the technology of its making, its size, the date of its producing should be mentioned (an example of a passport for a ceramic work is given in the Addendum).

3.7. Following works are not allowed to participate in the BIENNALE:

made not from clay (plaster, plasticine, plastic mass and so on);
unburned;
decorated with pictorial (watercolour, gouache, tempera, acrylic, oil etc.) paints;
injured (chipped, splitted, glued, restored etc.);
without properly fulfilled passports of exhibitory works as well as the form of an author (authors).

ІV. THE DETERMINATION OF THE BIENNALE WINNERS.
AWARDS

4.1. The works of the preselection and competitive works will be examined by the Jury of the BIENNALE.

4.2. Jurymen can take part in the BIENNALE only hors concours, representing their works in the catalogue.

4.3. During the process of the appraisal of works any information about the Participants will be closed.

4.4. The Jury works on August 20, 2019. The meeting of the Jury is closed; decisions are reached by open vote. The decision is final and cannot be a subject of appeal.

4.5. The owner of the grand prix will be invited to take part in the rewarding on account of the Management.

4.6. Awards:

GRAND PRIX – 3 000 $

GOLDEN AWARD – 2 000 $
SILVER AWARD – 1 500 $
BRONZE AWARD – 1000 $
60 prize certificates and catalogues.
Other personal awards of the co-organizers of the BIENNALE

4.7. The grand prix of the BIENNALE will be invested by a representative of the artistic Krychevsky dynasty.

4.8. Golden, silver, and bronze awards will be invested by co-organizers-donators.

V. CONCLUSIVE REGULATIONS

5.1. The Management is engaged:

to provide for the Participant a possibility of free viewing of fund collections and exhibition expositions of the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne during the time period when the BIENNALE exhibition is going to take place (September 20, 2019 – February 28, 2020);
to popularize the creative work the Participant in press, on radio and television, on websites of the National Museum;
to create a documentary videofilm about the main events and the Participants of the BIENNALE;
to compile the catalogue of the BIENNALE.

5.2. Awarded works (grand prix, golden, silver, and bronze awards) will be transferred by their authors for permanent storage to the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne for free.

5.3. Works, which took part in the BIENNALE, could be given back to the authors after February 28, 2020 only on their own account. By the authors’ consent, works could be left for permanent storage in the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne.

5.4. Works, not taken by the authors till April 30, 2020 will be transferred for permanent storage to the National Museum of Ukrainian Pottery in Opishne.
